Microbiology

What is Microbiology?

Microbiology is the study of microorganisms, most of which are too small to be seen with the naked eye. These microorganisms include algae, archaea, bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and viruses. It is involved with the analysis of the structure, behavior, and classification of such organisms and with ways of developing, regulating and managing their activities.

Today, microorganisms have been effectively employed in industry; their behaviors have been controlled and focused to create valuable and efficient products.

Importance of Microorganisms

Everyday life is linked inseparably with microorganisms. Apart from occupying the human body, they are found in the soil, the air and the seas. They are all around us, but we cannot see them. They show their unwanted presence when we see decaying materials or the spread of diseases.

On the other hand, they have beneficial effects like fermenting sugar, flavoring cheeses, producing important products like antibiotics and insulin, and many others.

Because of its importance to our world, various microbiological examination and analysis using the latest pioneering methods and devices have been developed and microbiological testing laboratories have mushroomed. These microbiological services have been made available to many industries such as antimicrobial, cosmetic, disinfectant, food, household, paint, paper, personal care, pharmaceutical, medical device, plastic, textile and other miscellaneous industries.

Microbiology Tests

Microbiology testing laboratories distinguish and analyze for microbes among markets and industries in order to identify organisms and confirm their presence or absence. These tests will help ensure that products are safer, meet quality standards and strictly comply with the regulations.

These tests and molecular biology lab services include, but are not limited to:

• Food Microbiological Testing Services
• Microbiological Contamination of Diesel Fuel
• Microbiological Tests for Cosmetics and Personal Care Products
• Product Microbial Sanitation Claims Testing
• Microbial Corrosion and Biocide Treatments
• Bacteria Testing for the Oil and Gas Industry
• Environmental Microbiology Consultancy and Testing
• Bug-Tracker Microbial Monitoring
